KFD Jewellery supports the education of vulnerable children in Tanzania August 16 2018
Back in June I received a phone call 'out of the blue' from Christopher Faulkner who explained that he had found me in a Cambridge Open Studios brochure, loved my jewellery and would like me to exhibit at his charity event in September. I was free and always happy to support charities so I agreed without really knowing what I had let myself in for. I later checked out the websites art4africa.co.uk and rise-africa.co.uk and was amazed at what I found.
Art4Africa is an exhibition first held in 2016 to raise funds for the charity Rise Africa UK, a charity founded by Olivia Faulkner, which supports the education of vulnerable children in Tanzania. This is not a 'little charity' event it is a beautiful exhibition featuring the work of amazingly talented artists and sculptors. The beautiful home of Christopher and Amanda is transformed into a gallery to present the artwork which spills over into the impressive gardens and additional marquees. The event in 2016 was gorgeous and this year's event to be held next month promises to be even more spectacular. I feel both humbled and honoured to have invited to exhibit my jewellery alongside such talented artisans.
When is this fantastic event?
Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th September 2018, 9.00am - 6.00pm daily.
The Old Chapel House, Riseley Road, Keysoe, MK44 2HT.
This year the exhibition features the work of even more artisans , including a whole marquee of potters and of course there will be my jewellery, including a new pendant pendant created specifically for RiseAfricaUK.
